Julian Haig was born in Melbourne, Australia and is the younger brother of actress Georgina Haig, son of screen writer Russell Haig and artist Gillian Haig.

The Haig family lived primarily on the Mornington Peninsula, an area south of Melbourne with both beach and farming culture. Following in his sisters footsteps, Julian decided to study acting full time and graduated the Full-time Acting Program at 16th St Actors Studio in 2015. In 2016 he made the move to Vancouver and is pursuing his acting career there.
